The Central Arkansas Development Council Early Head Start/Head Start/Arkansas Better Chance program provides exceptional early childhood education for children ages 0-5, with unrivaled flexibility, leading health and safety guidelines, and support systems for our children and families.
Our inquiry-based curriculum is facilitated by warm, experienced, and early childhood education degree
level teachers in bright, open spaces that let children make big connections to the growing world around
them. We stimulate learning through experienced-based programs where the child is exposed to the
essential building blocks of education from ABCs, learning to count, feeling different textures, human anatomy, and discovering the world around them. Now, more than ever, children need to attend the right preschool to develop the skills necessary to excel in primary/elementary school and beyond.
CADC operates thirteen facilities in a five-county service area (Clark, Hot Spring, Montgomery, Pike, and
Saline Counties) in central and southwest Arkansas, and our program is funded to serve a total of 510 children. Our facilities are located in the following towns: Arkadelphia, Gurdon, Amity, Murfreesboro,
Delight, Glenwood, Mount Ida, Haskell (Harmony Grove), Benton, Alexander (Shannon Hills), Malvern,
Magnet Cove, and Bismarck. We accept admissions throughout the year. Therefore, recruitment in our
program is ongoing and enrollment into the program can be anytime within our operating program year
for income-eligible families.
Currently, we are operating a summer program, that began on June 14, 2021, and ends on July 23, 2021.
The regular school year will begin on August 16, 2021, through May 18, 2022.
We believe that each child is unique and should be cared for, taught, and supported to thrive in his/her
own way, at his/her own pace. That's why we create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where each
child can develop and learn in order to build a bright future.
We offer care and education for infants, toddlers, and preschool students. We are a strong community at CADC, and when you come to our school, we want to be an extension of your family. We instill values like friendship and a positive self-image, so every child and their family members feel comfortable and welcome. At CADC EHS/HS/ABC, we believe in and value the principles of inclusion, diversity, respect for all people,
